Michelle Gunter Moore

Michelle Gunter Moore is a multimedia artist who experiments with clay, canvas, and paper, allowing the visual dynamics of her world to bias her media of choice. She observes the shape, color, tone, and texture to capture an abstract and expressionist view of her subject. Her work is often seen as contemplative, studious, and pensive.

Michelle’s intention is to capture the perception of emotion in a moment. She observes life around her and visits the past in the photographs she has collected or taken. She rarely pays attention to the minor details of her subject, preferring to let the body language, the environment, and the atmosphere convey the meaning in the work and to the viewer.

“Even from an early age, I can remember sitting on a bench in the mall or in a park under a tree, quietly observing the people around me. I feel that many of us do this – we are people watchers. We will create a personal relationship with those we observe - a narrative that tells a story that only we imagine. Arkansas artist Michelle Gunter Moore is the co-owner of a small research-based, bio-statistical consulting group and has been creating art since 1998. She has been with the Art Group Gallery in Little Rock, Arkansas, since 2013. Her art studio is located at 221 2nd Street, in the Pyramid Place Building in Little Rock.
