About
After raising children and owning her own business for many years, Donna began painting in watercolor in 2013. Having no formal training or experience, she was immediately taken with the medium and for the last twelve years has painted almost daily. She began participating in juried competitions in 2018 and has been included in and awarded prizes from several, including the Transparent Watercolor Society, National Watercolor Society, Watercolor USA, and Mid-Southern Watercolorists. Donna was selected for publication in Splash 25 – The Best in Watercolor and received honorable mentions in the 2024 and 2025 Women in Watercolor International Competitions.
“Some ask if watercolor is the most difficult medium because it’s so unforgiving, but I feel it’s wonderfully versatile and one I’ve barely begun to discover. I am still exploring techniques and trying to determine just who I am as a watercolor artist. The mission of my art is to tell a story, to pique your curiosity and invite you to become part of the conversation.”
