April Burris

“My goal with my current work is to give the viewer a sense that they are looking into a memory; a dream from which you are just waking. Vivid yet mysterious.”

April Burris was born in Blythe, California, but was raised in rural North Central Arkansas. Her rich impressionistic oil paintings depict a simpler life. An award-winning plein air and studio painter, April enjoys the challenge of revealing the beauty of the everyday that is often overlooked. April is known for her atmospheric, light-filled paintings of dramatic sunsets, fires, and nocturnes, but she does not limit her work to a single subject matter.

April is a juried member of the Oil Painters of America, the American Impressionist Society, and the Portrait Society of America. She has been awarded in national, regional, and local art competitions, including multiple Best of Show awards. Her work is collected both across the United States and internationally.
