Patricia Wilkes

Patricia Wilkes will always be a student of the Classical tradition in painting. Born and raised in Little Rock, she graduated from Washington University School of Fine Arts with a BFA after completing a rigorous traditional art education. Since then, she has continued to refine her art skills by taking both college courses and multiple workshops, in person and, more recently, online. She has a strong background in figurative drawing and has painted numerous portraits in both pastel and oil.

Classical Realism in both drawing and painting has always been her baseline. Whether painting figurative works, portraits, florals, or still lifes, the process of depicting a three-dimensional form in a believable space never varies. However, she is continually exploring new ways to modernize her work and make it feel fresher and more contemporary. Patricia feels that an artist needs to look a little into the future, take a risk, and create something totally unique. It is a voyage of discovery, and for an artist, that can be thrilling.
